The highly rated Arlington School District has the second largest student population of all Districts in Dutchess County.  The district is spread across eleven buildings:  eight elementary (two of which are primaries, two are intermediate and four K-5), two middle school and one high school.

Lagrange Overview

Situated approximately 10 miles from Poughkeepsie, 50 miles from White Plains and 75 miles north of New York City, the Town of LaGrange offers a rural feel while centrally located in the southern tier of Dutchess County.  LaGrange is bordered by the towns of UnionVale to the east, Beekman to the southeast, East Fishkill and Wappingers to the south, Poughkeepsie to the west and Pleasant Valley to the north.

What to do

Tymor Park offers a pool with eight 25 yard lap pool to support a swim team along with a playground and hosts festivals throughout the year, including Oktoberfest.  Freedom Park, the largest park in LaGrange offers residents a spring-fed swimming lake, a bandstand and large open-air pavilion and a playground.  Each summer, a day camp is offered by the town at Freedom Park.  James Baird State Park boasts a golf course, playground, cycling and hiking trails.  Stringham Park offers a complex of soccer fields.  Pick your own farms, fine and casual dining, shopping and businesses are all within the town and surrounding area.
